Purpose of this assignment

The assignment aims to assess students’ comprehension of fundamental concepts in various aspects of Cloud Computing and their ability to apply this knowledge to develop solutions for technical challenges. Upon completion, students will have gained practical experience in configuring a cloud service from a major provider such as Amazon, Google, Azure, etc. Additionally, they will have implemented a basic cloud platform using open source, the Windows platform, a hosting platform, and appropriate networking software. Alongside technical expertise, the assignment also evaluates students’ skills in communication literacy, critical thinking, analysis, reasoning, and interpretation, which are essential for career advancement and academic competence.

Scenario

ISMT College currently has all of its college services hosted on its on-premises servers. However, the college has decided to migrate its services to the cloud. The college has entered a contract with Cloud Pulse Pvt Ltd., a cloud services company located in Kathmandu, Nepal. As a Cloud Administratorhired by Cloud Pulse Pvt Ltd., your role is to assist in the migration process and ensure a smooth transition of services to the cloud.

As a cloud administrator at Cloud Pulse Pvt Ltd., you are assigned to assist ISMT College in migrating their on-premises servers to the cloud. Your tasks include analyzing the evolution and fundamental concepts of cloud computing, discussing the reasons why organizations should migrate to a cloud computing solution, justifying the tools chosen for realizing a cloud computing solution, and designing an appropriate architectural cloud computing framework for the given scenario.

Once the appropriate cloud computing framework is designed, your next task is to develop cloud computing solutions using service provider frameworks and open source tools. You will configure a cloud computing platform for ISMT College using the cloud service provider’s framework provided by Cloud Pulse Pvt Ltd. During the development process, you need to discuss the issues and constraints that may arise and how to overcome them. Additionally, you will implement a cloud platform using open source tools to enhance the services provided to ISMT College.

As part of your responsibilities, you need to submit a proper report to the CEO of Cloud Pulse Pvt Ltd. The report should document the activities involved in hosting ISMT College website and migrating all of its site data to the AWS Cloud. Specifically, you are required to:

● Build a three-tier AWS/ Azure VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) from scratch. ● Create NAT Gateways to enable outbound internet connectivity for private subnets.

● Create security groups to control inbound and outbound traffic to and from the resources in the VPC.

● Configure the auto-scaling groups for ec2

● Set up an application load balancer to distribute traffic across multiple instances.● Implement an auto scaling group to automatically adjust the number of instances based on demand.
